About Us

East of Eden Rescue (EOE) is a nonprofit 501 c(3) companion animal rescue, incorporated in the State of California. East of Eden seeks to improve companion animal welfare through our homeless animal rescue and community outreach programs. Our service area encompasses western Alameda, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, and Stanislaus Counties.

We are an animal rescue group run entirely by volunteers. We strive to find forever homes for our rescued dogs and cats. We provide foster homes for all our animals until they are adopted. We are a 501c(3) (EIN #33-1069899) non-profit organization run entirely on donations.

Our Mission

EOE has served the Easy Bay and Central Valley's in-need companion animals since 2005. Our mission is to:

  • Improve the welfare of compaion animals in our service area, including rescue/adoption and feral cat management.
  • Provide community outreach and education, particularly to underserved populations.
  • Provide behavioral and medical rehabilitation for animals in our program, establishing best practices for these procedures.
  • Conduct a well-run, sustainable animal rescue operation, which will service our communities now and in the future.
