We got a call from a citizen about a badly injured cat. They took the cat to a local vet, who advised euthanasia. Not satisfied with this answer, they called us. We took him to one of our vets. The new vet was not optimistic, but said a blood transfusion offered a remote possibility of recovery. This vet also confirmed the cat had suffered extensive burns, either of chemical or fire origin. EOE agreed to take this case. A vet tech at the clinic offered her own cat as a donor. Miraculously, the cat, named “Lucha”, started to recover. Lucha has since been adopted into a loving home.
