Have you ever seen a male Calico? Neither had we until we received a kitten from the Stockton Shelter who turned out to be a male Calico. There is only a 1 in 3,000 chance of a Calico cat being born male. Since a cat’s color is linked to their X chromosome and male cats only have one X chromosome, they generally turn out only one color. However, we know it can happen because of Maximus. Maximus was adopted out last summer and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
